FORMAT

WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO ?

  • Your mission should you choose to accept is to navigate from one webpage to another, using all of the information available on it. You may need more than just a mouse and a keyboard for accomplishing your tasks.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Lateral Thinking
    Two skew lines may or may not meet at only one point. In short, thinking straight is a not a good idea.
  • Common Sense
    Voltaire was right about a lot of things, but never did he hit the nail right on its head so hard.
  • Sense of Humor
    Stop by a question once in a while and smell the roses. See the lighter side of things.
  • General Knowledge
    Neither necessary nor sufficient, it usually helps. GIYF, in any case.
  • Perseverance and Integrity
    MODS are GODS. No tomfoolery of this sort will be tolerated.

Logo Design

ABOUT

SSPACE is looking for its first ever logo and you may have the honors. Small-spacecraft Systems and PAyload CEntre (SSPACE) is a hub developed by Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology(IIST) for building satellites, payloads and other small spacecraft systems designed to meet scientific requirements, enabling students to understand and learn about the design, development, fabrication and testing phases of building such systems and its effects in space. SSPACE also has collaborative projects with world renowned universities including CalTech, University of Colarado - Boulder, University of Surrey and NTU Singapore giving students unique oppurtunities and exposure.

RULES

  • Each artist can submit upto 3 designs. Do not send the same design thrice. Such entries will result in mark deduction.
  • Entry fee - None. The contest is strictly for students only. Professionals and design firms are requested to refrain from participating.
  • A short paragraph describing the design and the rationale by the artist is required as part of the submission. Last Date of Submission is 15th February, 2019. Any late artwork will be shall not be considered.
  • The logo must be submitted through e-mail to the mail ID - design.c2k19@gmail.com.
  • Design should be in the specified file format. - .eps, .ai, .svg, .png, .jpg , or .jpeg. If jpeg or jpg formats are used they should be of high resolution.
  • Along with logo, name and details of the participant need to be given. The file name should be in the format - firstname_lastname_entrynumber. fileformat.
    Eg. Design_Wizard_2.ai - for your 2nd entry. Personal Details should include name of the institution/college and personal contact number.
  • TThe Jury will be comprising of SSPACE officials. The organizers have the right to scrutinize the designs before sending them to the jury and can also act as preliminary judges. No juror or the person volunteering for the event is eligible to enter the contest.
  • The Logo Design (or Graphic) will be evaluated on the following criteria: Clarity of message related to SSPACE , Visual impact , Reproducibility (on website and documents).
  • All finalists will be notified of the committee’s final choice by last week of February, 2019.
  • Required design elements : Reflect the mission of SSPACE and preferably, it should have the letters SSPACE infused.
  • In case, the participant does not have the software background, photographs of hand drawn images are acceptable, however if an artist is unable to produce the final artwork in a specified file format, the artist will be awarded only a portion of the stated prize.
  • All copyrights and patent rights of all the designs submitted towards the contest shall be transferred to SSPACE, IIST, Thiruvanathapuram for future use without any compensation. This is to hold true right from the submission of entries.

RULES

  • It is an individuals game, if caught playing in groups, disqualification would ensue.
  • The decision of the organisers is final and binding.
  • This event is open to all college students with valid ID cards.

FORMAT

  • The event will last for 24 hours starting from 8:00 PM on 02/03/2019.
  • The event would consist of a single round.
  • The answers to the questions of the first round would strictly be whole numbers and must be entered in Arabic numerals only. Eg. 666
  • Every three incorrect attempts to the same question would freeze the participants account for 5 minutes.
  • Participants would be ranked on the leader-board based on the time taken to answer the questions- the person who takes the minimum time to answer all the questions would top the leader- board and win.
  • If any form of malpractice is suspected, the participant will get debarred from answering.

But be warned, oh wayward Padawan, the path is twisted, riddled with Red herrings and is astronomically complicated, for one wrong turn will leave you stranded in the wrong alley way of this incomprehensibly complex Universe. Do you have what it takes to scrape your way through space and time, dodging singularities now and then, hyper-jumping between different Universes and finally, accessing the full potential of your brain to crack the Cosmic Code? Come find out.

FORMAT

  • Each step of the way, you will be given a challenge which will require you to look deep within all the Universes, both known and unknown. Prove yourselves worthy, and you shall pass.
  • Hints, like gold during a Gold Rush, will all be right in front of you, but would you see or would you observe and dig?
  • You mightve made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs, but you need to be faster here. First one to the finish wins.
  • P.S: No knowledge of Astronomy (or related subjects) is required, but then again, a little knowledge wouldnt hurt your chances.
RULES

  • Mods are Gods (well, we can dream).
  • One operator per ship. If youre found disobeying this rule, you will be jettisoned.
  • Use your ships internet systems wisely and use it often. Comb through the interwebs as much you want, and when ready, try your hand at cracking the code in each challenge. (Google, Bing, Yahoo, Quora. Use whichever tickles your fancy!)
